Refractory fiber

Meaning: Refractory fiber, also known as ceramic fiber, is a fibrous refractory material and an efficient insulation material. It has the characteristics of general fibers (such as softness, strength, etc.), and can be processed into various papers, tapes, ropes, felts, and blankets. It also has high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance properties that ordinary fibers do not have, overcoming the brittleness of general refractory materials. At the same time, it has a very significant energy-saving effect. As a refractory insulation material, it has been widely used in industrial sectors such as metallurgy, chemical industry, machinery, building materials, shipbuilding, aviation, and aerospace.

2. Classification
Refractory fibers are divided into two categories: amorphous (glassy) and polycrystalline (crystalline). Amorphous refractory fibers, including aluminum silicate, high-purity aluminum silicate, chromium containing aluminum silicate, and high alumina refractory fibers. Polycrystalline refractory fibers, including mullite fibers, alumina fibers, and zirconia fibers.  There are also classifications based on the maximum allowable operating temperature of refractory fibers.
